Copy Trading Risk Disclosure

Last updated August 8, 2026. Read this in full before you connect a wallet. Copy Trading is the highest-risk feature PolyHawk offers.

What Copy Trading does

When enabled, PolyHawk watches the wallets you select and attempts to place corresponding orders from your own Polymarket account, scaled to the budget you set. These are real orders using real money.

PolyHawk is not your broker or adviser

We do not select traders for you, we do not vet them, and we do not manage your money. You choose which wallets to mirror, you set the budget and the per-trade cap, and you are responsible for every order placed on your account. We are a piece of software that follows your configuration.

Execution risk

You can lose everything

You can lose the entire amount in the connected wallet, not just your configured budget. A private key grants full control of a wallet. Software bugs, a compromised server, or a mistake in your own configuration could result in total loss. Only connect a wallet funded with money you can afford to lose completely.

The trader you copy is a stranger

A wallet with a strong recent record may be lucky rather than skilled, may be running a strategy you cannot see, may be hedged elsewhere, or may stop trading without warning. Past performance does not predict future results.

Credential handling

Your private key and API key are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage and are never returned to your browser. They are decrypted only to sign your orders. That said, storing a private key with any third party is inherently riskier than not doing so. Prefer a wallet that holds only your trading balance.

You can revoke access at any time from Copy Trading → Disconnect, which deletes the stored credentials. You should also rotate the key on Polymarket afterwards.

Your responsibilities

No guarantee

PolyHawk makes no representation that Copy Trading will be profitable, available, or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law we accept no liability for trading losses arising from its use.
